Summer Foraging, Wild Medicine & Folklore Walk, Lavenham Sunday 8th June
Join me in the enchanting medieval village of Lavenham, Suffolk, for one of my foraging, wild medicine, and folklore walks.
In this walk, we will explore the plants around us, deepening our connection to the land and to ourselves through the ancient practice of foraging. We’ll learn how to identify wild plants and understand their healing properties, discovering the wisdom each plant offers. This is an opportunity to reconnect with the earth and rekindle the sacred relationship between ourselves and the natural world.
As we wander through the countryside, we’ll encounter late spring and early summer plants like the vibrant yellow flowers of St. John’s wort, known for its bright, uplifting energy, and the wild rose, whose petals are full of beauty and soothing medicine. We may also meet the soft, feathery fronds of yarrow, or the early berries of elder, whose flowers will have transformed into medicinal fruit. Each plant speaks its own language and holds a key to our healing.
Each walk begins with the burning of herbs or saining with botanical mists to clear the space and an offering of my handmade flower essences, crafted to deepen our connection with plant spirit communication. We’ll send our intentions out to the plant beings, asking for their permission to learn from their wisdom.
This walk takes place on Sunday 8th June 2025, beginning at 11am and lasting between two and three hours.
Once booked, you will receive a confirmation email. Details of the exact meeting point will be sent closer to the day.
Please dress appropriately for the weather, and bring water if it’s a warm day. Feel free to bring a notebook and pen to record insights, or simply open your senses and allow the plants to speak to you.
Children are welcome to join for free but please let me know if you plan to bring any. Dogs are also welcome, with prior notice.
The walk is gentle and mostly flat, but if you have any questions about its suitability for your fitness or health, please feel free to reach out.
If you prefer to pay in cash on the day, please email me directly to reserve your space. I’m happy to answer any questions at info@wildfolkapothecary.com.
