A super-moisturising organic red or pink tinted balm with a naturally derived pinky red tint for lips and cheeks.
Made with wild alkanet root (plus a touch of wild indigo root in the darker balm and a touch of madder root in the lighter balm) and organic cold pressed olive oil. Thickened with naturally fragrant beeswax and scented with sweet orange and frankincense essential oils.
Available in two subtle, soft, sheer shades, Pink Rose and Red Berry. The balms are far darker in the tins than they will appear on the lips/skin. I have a few balms without essential oils added on request, please let me know if you would prefer an essential oil free balm.
*please note that the tint in these balms is very sheer and subtle, the red balm is darker, cooler, and more obvious but they are both gentle and illuminating, accentuating the natural colour of the lips rather than giving a vivid or dense colour. They are enhancers of natural beauty rather than layers of fake colour, but that is what natural makeup should be, a nod from nature to the natural.*
These balms are packaged in 20ml slider tins which fit easily into a pocket. They contain quite a lot of product and should last many months, even with daily use.
The tinted balms look different on different lip and skin tones so the result will depend on each individual.
Wonderful if you want a natural, dewey look, but will not have the pigmentation or staying power of a lipstick or powder blush.

Ingredients:
Organic cold-pressed olive oil, handmade extracts of wild alkanet root, madder root, and wild indigo root, beeswax, vitamin E oil, essential oils of sweet orange and frankinsence.
The root of dyers alkanet, Alkanna tinctora, produces a beautiful deep red dye which has historically been used to dye clothing, and was used for gentle tinted makeup in Victorian times, and probably before.
It is also wonderful for healing and cooling the skin, so useful for burns and scars from burning. This balm should not be restricted to use as a cosmetic product, it can be used as a skin healer and as a means to connect with the indomitable watery spirit of alkanet.
I love the idea that what looks like makeup on the surface is hiding the plant medicine of this incredible being.
The colour of each batch varies slightly due to the natural colouring of the roots used.
The balms can also be used on eyelids and as a dewey highlighter for cheeks.
All of my creations are made within sacred space in deep reverence and connection.
